The Youth Travel Workshop will take place as planned at the Kia Oval and we have been liaising with the venue regularly as the health and safety of our delegates is our number one priority
We recognise that the ongoing situation regarding the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) will be front of mind for many of you and BETA is reporting via regular updates on our membership website here
At this time the UK Government has not suggested that conference and events should be cancelled and the message is ‘Business as Usual’. We will continuously monitor the situation and implement appropriate Health & Safety precautions to ensure our commitment to the safety of all event attendees. All attendees, including those from outside the UK should make themselves aware of advice from Public Health England
Update by the Kia Oval Events team regarding precautions being taken on site
The Kia Oval are already taking precautions within the venue to minimise risk to all parties. This includes:
Following all advice given by the NHS we are increasing the cleaning and disinfection of equipment and spaces to add an extra layer of safety
We are also encouraging enhanced hygiene standards in all of our guests and staff.
These include:
- Handwash, Hand Sanitisation & Catch It, Kill it, Bin it posters clearly displayed in all front of house and back of house areas, changing rooms and toilets to encourage effective hygiene practice
- Provision of additional hand sanitisers for each staff member
- Training of all staff on extra hygiene measures
We advise all attendees to practice safe hygiene measures including, not shaking hands with other attendees, thoroughly washing hands regularly, using the hand sanitizer provided and sneezing into tissues followed by immediate and appropriate disposal.
At the present time the event is showing normal booking patterns and we look forward to welcoming you to the 2020 Youth Travel Workshop.
